After
Who wants to see the "after" pictures? It took many months and many gallons of paint to achieve the updated look we enjoy. My hard-working hubby spent many long hours painting all that wood to make me happy:)

Home for Now
Welcome to my blog!
I wanted to share the journey we have been on for the last 2 1/2 years, since moving to Texas from Florida.
This is our home, a three-bedroom garage apartment, fully appointed with elevator and balcony. It is in a peaceful, beautiful country setting, complete with deer, wild hogs and an occasional raccoon...much different than the suburban life we were used to in FL! Wanna take a look at the interior?
Here's how it looked back in 2009, when we first got here. The elderly lady who used to live here liked wallpaper--it covered every surface (my husband was happy to keep it as-is, but I had different plans:)!
See? Wood and wallpaper, everywhere. So much potential, though! The grandfather clock in the corner was made by the former tenant's husband.
My favorite part of living here is the light that comes in through those windows--we are blessed with beautiful, sunny skies here in Texas, and I keep those blinds open all the time! Great for my plants:)
The built-ins are great--we have lots of books and knick-knacks from my thrifting adventures. I just didn't love all the wood!
Well, I have to tell you that I am not a fan of traditional style...my tastes run more eclectic/vintage/bohemian. Stay tuned for the "after" pictures...there is lots of paint involved!
